Having more talent than the other team doesn’t hurt your team’s chances of winning basketball games. Unfortunatley that is not going to be enough to win a championship. To win your team needs a secret ingredient not every team has….Team Chemistry.

Team chemistry is built through so many variables.  One of which is unselfishness. Players need to play for each other.  The team that makes plays for each other is a team that is unselfish and wins.

Team chemistry is also built through communication.  The more you communicate off the court, the more your team will communicate on the court.  This is vital on the defensive side. Make it a point to get to know your teammates.  

Another thing that creates team chemistry is positivity. Teams that exude positive energy can overcome tough situations in games.  As a basketball official I see the team that argues with each other loses 90% of the time.

The tough times are what makes your team stronger the longer the team stays together. Negative energy makes it almost impossible to overcome the obstacles your team will face. There will be tough losses but “how does your team respond?”.

Embrace your teammates for what they bring to the team. Never embarass a teammate during a game. If somebody makes a bad play, forget about it! Move on to the next play and stay positive.
