Today LaBron James is the best player in the NBA. He can score, rebound, and make great passes. Yet he still only has 3 NBA championships. Two titles James got by moving to another team. That’s not something Jordan would do. And I know LeBron will eventually hit a big shot in the NBA Finals but as of now he hasn’t. If it wasn’t for a bogus suspension of Draymond Green in 2016, James would’ve had only 2 titles but he was saved by the NBA officials. Here are 5 reasons why Jordan is better than LeBron.
- Jordan went up against tougher competition than LeBron. Especially in the eastern conference. The Pistons, Knicks, Pacers, Orlando, Cleveland were always nipping at Jordan’s heels. Today in the east besides Cleveland and Boston, there is no real competition for LeBron. Remember there were the “Jordan Rules” to stop him. Any rules for LeBron?
- Jordan had a more polished post game than LeBron. The footwork Jordan had in the post was beautiful to watch.
He had a counter moves on top of counter moves in order to get his shot off. LeBron has a decent post game but he’s usually the biggest player on the court being 6’9 and 260 pounds. - Jordan never lost a series in the NBA Finals. LeBron has lost 4 NBA Finals series. James was swept by the Spurs in his first finals appearance. Jordan never let us believe he could be beaten in the finals when the chips are on the table.
- Jordan lead a team to a 72-10 record on the way to a 4th NBA championship.
The best regular season record LeBron has had was 66-16. - The “Flu” game. Perhaps one the greatest basketball games played in the NBA Finals.
Jordan stricken with a stomach flu as we all watched to see if he would make it through game 5. Not only did he make it through the game, he knocked down a 3 point shot to give his team the win and eventually a fifth title. LaBron does have a signature game 7 win to defeat the Warriors in 2016.
